Mr. Grant bought 48m of wire. He used 13/16 of the wire to make basket frames. He cut the remaining wire into equal lengths to make n=basket handles. Each basket handle was made with 3/4 m of wire.
How many basket handles did he make?

Explanation
Amount of wire used for basket frames = 13/16 x 48 = 13×3 = 39
Therefore the amount of wire used for handles is 48-39 = 9 meters
Each handle takes 3/4 of a meter
To calculate how many handles you can make divide the quantity left by the amount to make it
9 divided by 3/4 = 9 x 4/3 = 3 x 4 = 12
Therefore the most handles he could make is 12
