Here are some other items that you can consider walking with once doing the Public Health System, actually apart from the fan it is good to walk with these things for private hospital stays as well. Truthfully these things are necessary once you are spending any time at the Hospital in our Public Health Care system whether or not it is to give birth.
- A Fan
- A pillow and extra sheet
- Snacks, Water. (Stay away from juice and sugary drinks if you are breast feeding)
- Lysol, Hand sanitizer
- Socks (for Mummy)
- Body Wash instead of Soap
- Plastic Bags for dirty Clothes
- Disposable masks (at least 10)
- Separate Slippers to bathe in
Other tips
- Pack each set of baby clothes together so it is easy to find when it is time to change baby.
- Get a cheap phone if possible. Don’t forget your charger and headphones.
- A pack of cloth diapers can be used in many different ways, bibs, wash clothes. they are very absorbent.
- Use a bag with wheels if possible.
What is a Cazac?
The cazac is the lightweight top we like to put on babies in the Caribbean. It is easy to change baby and keeps the baby cool in the hospital. I packed it but truthfully I preferred to use vests and onsies after the hospital. Get a couple to make it easy in the hospital and see if you like using them.
The pictures below were found on FB Market place and https://www.facebook.com/michelles.kids.world.tt/ but you can find them in any baby store.
