Overview
‘Art Camp with Aunty Jaime’ is a series of creative workshops that focuses on young children. Jaime has 5 years experience
providing arts-based workshops/activities for children, and often hires other facilitators and assistants to run her camp.
– Photos are only shared after receiving permission.
– Exact locations of future venues if residential, will only be shared
with parents who register. The general area will be public.
– Children are not named by this page without permission.
Each workshop has it’s own focus and some activities involve guest facilitators for specialty processes such as clay.
Creativity and Imagination are highly encouraged and does not
include a ‘paint by numbers’ approach. If introduced to a new
technique or artist, they are encouraged to incorporate what they have learnt into their work.
The first ‘Art Camp with Aunty Jaime’ workshop (prior workshops were all not-for-profit) was a Christmas Camp in 2016 hosted at Irie Elephant in Rookery Nook, Maraval. The ages were 4 to 8.
A long term mission of this camp is for part proceeds to be
support the not-for-profit projects that Jaime hosts. Jaime Lee Loy is a contemporary artist and writer from Trinidad. She produces work that has a strong focus on social responsibility and change.
Wearing different hats in the creative community, she also works with NGOS, youths and children, also producing customizable
stories for young readers as well as operating a not-for-profit,
arts-based programme (summerheroestt.com). See SUPER ME FILM on Facebook.
